Hi dear ones!
As many of you know, I am an outspoken advocate of autism awareness and acceptance. I have many publications out about my experience of raising my child with disabilities. I'm so blessed to be their mother.
My first publication on the subject was in poetic form. I created this work in Tanka format. Tanka is a highly structured style of poetry that follows strict rules. It was enjoyable to format my expansive feelings for my child into such a regimented form.
My original photography was also published alongside the poem. In the photo I paired nature elements with children to symbolize the spiritual perfection of creation. The work is titled, "Special Needs" and was published by SpillWords Press. Thank you for letting me share this piece of my heart with you.
