About Me

Thank you for coming here to learn more about me. I am a lifelong California girl living in a charming beach town. I am blessed to be married for fourteen years with three amazing children, a few beloved pets and a plethora of plants. My faith and family are my first priorities. My creative work is what I consider a passion project. I have been writing and creating art since childhood. I first officially became a published author when I was in high school. I remember feeling in awe to see my writing printed in a beautiful book. The rest, as they say, is history!

Prior to starting a family, I had many years of experience in the psychology field. This included helping patients at a top-ranked psychiatric hospital, as well as a long-term medical care facility. Helping those with profound physical and mental health needs has greatly influenced my creative work.

My publications and features cover a multitude of subjects including poetry, psychology, philosophy, faith, family and wellness. I am honored to have been published over seventeen times. Not only in America, but also in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I have been published by Yahoo! Lifestyle, Yahoo! News United Kingdom, Huffington Post/ The Mighty, Spill Words Press, Twitter Moments Selection, Happy Cow, a poetry anthology and more.

I enjoy taking a multidisciplinary approach to my work. Using multiple mediums to express my art is a passion of mine. My photography can often be found accompanying my publications. I enjoy incorporating my painting into my creative works also. My original painting was featured at the Gallery at The Merc in California. My vintage fashion was featured on Target Style. I was selected as a vintage Besame Girl by Besame Cosmetics. I've showcased dresses for the modest Christian company Neesees Dress Boutique. Other creative interests include crafting, scrapbooking, baking, gardening, antiquing for vintage treasures, vintage decorating and jamming to vintage vinyl.

When I am not creating, I am found supporting causes dear to my heart. As an animal and ocean lover, I support the Dolphin Project and Sea Shepherd. I am a passionate advocate for individuals with disabilities. I am a supporting member of the Autism Society of America. I have volunteered for many years at local schools- in both general education and special education classrooms. I have been a special education class Room Mom and PTA class delegate. I am an elected council officer for my local school district. Here I support English learners, students with disabilities, foster youth, low income students and homeless youth.

I am blessed to have loyal readers from all around the world. I am touched by the messages, emails and letters I receive. Hearing how my writing has inspired or helped someone's life for the better is truly special to me. Feel free to email me using the secure contact form on this site. You are also invited to join my private creative community online. Thank you again for taking the time to get to know more about me.

With love,
