About Me

Professional

Thank you for coming here to learn more about me. I live in coastal California with my wonderful husband, three amazing children, several sweet pets and a plethora of plants. My faith and family are my first priorities. My creative work is what I consider a passion project. I have been writing and creating art since childhood. I first officially became a published author over twenty years ago. The rest, as they say, is history!

My publications and features cover a multitude of subjects including poetry, psychology, philosophy, faith, family and disabilities. On my blog I share about faith, homemaking, stay-at-home mom life, financial freedom, simple and slow living, plus natural and cruelty-free lifestyle tips.

I am honored to have been published over sixteen times. Not only in America, but also in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I have been published by Yahoo! Lifestyle, Yahoo! News United Kingdom, Huffington Post/ The Mighty, Spill Words Press, Twitter Moments Selection, Happy Cow, Target Style, a poetry anthology book and so much more. My lifestyle blog has been thriving since 2019. I am blessed with so many loyal readers.

I enjoy taking a multidisciplinary approach to my work. Using multiple mediums to express my art is a passion of mine. My photography can often be found accompanying my writing publications. I enjoy incorporating my painting into my creative works as well. My original painting was featured at the Gallery at The Merc in California.

When I am not creating, I am found supporting causes dear to my heart. As an animal and nature lover, I support the Dolphin Project, Sea Shepherd and Helen Woodward Animal Center.

As a mother of a child with autism, I am a passionate advocate for acceptance and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. I am a supporting member of the Autism Society of America. I am a member of the local Parent Teacher Organization. I am a Special Education Parent Partner Panel participant.

I have volunteered for the over six years at local preschools and elementary schools. I have volunteered in both general education and special education classrooms.

My other creative pursuits include cooking, baking, crafting, painting, scrapbooking, creating natural home and beauty products, gardening, decorating, listening to vintage vinyl records and thrifting for vintage treasures.

Prior to starting a family, I had many years of experience in the counseling and psychology field. This included helping patients at a top-ranked psychiatric hospital, as well as a long-term medical care facility. Helping those with profound physical and mental health needs has greatly influenced my work.
