Hello beautiful friends,
Today I'm going to share about modest style. The weather is warming up and so it feels like an appropriate time to discuss this topic. As many of you know, my interest in modest style led me to be chosen to represent the highly acclaimed companies NeeSees Boutique and Bésame Cosmetics. In the photo above, I'm wearing a lovely dress from NeeSees Boutique as well as Portrait Pink 1963 lipstick by Bésame Cosmetics.
I am extremely selective on what brands I represent. When I was a young model, I didn't get to choose what styles companies had me wear. Now that I am a Christian, I can be picky on what I choose to wear! It's important for me to showcase brands that share my values. Many boutiques and other companies want brand ambassadors and affiliates. Yet if they sell items that are lewd, profane, immodest or tasteless- I will not promote that brand.
As a Christian, I find that modesty represents dignity and reverence. As the saying goes, come across as a daughter of the King not a woman of the world. There are many other religions around the world that share this belief. Regardless of one's spiritual beliefs, the way a woman adorns herself speaks volumes about her self-respect.
Women wearing too short of shorts, too tight of clothing and low cut tops are a dime a dozen. Showing too much of one's body lacks imagination. Nothing interesting or special there. Anyone can just let it all hang out, so to speak. As Edith Head said, "Your dresses should be tight enough to show you're a woman and loose enough to show you're a lady." I feel beautiful wearing a modest, feminine dress and a high-quality lipstick.
An elegant woman knows how to dress in a feminine and modest way. This is no exception in the warmer months. I have created an inspiration board on my Pinterest for ways to dress modestly. Creative women know how to represent a style that is classy not trashy. They use their creativity to clothe themselves in a dignified manner. As Coco Chanel famously said, "Adornment, what a science! Beauty, what a weapon! Modesty, what elegance!"
Wishing you a beautiful day,
